Going All In

Avi Seneviratne- 4th Year Intern

These last three years of the internship have been amazing! It would be too hard to succinctly say in what ways the internship has grown me, but when I reflect on the three objectives of the internship, I can see evidence of just how much I have grown in my faith.

Represent & serve god faithfully & Passionately

When I first started this program in 2022, I was looking to do just one year to grow in my faith, with no intention of staying on for more. However, because of the internship, I now feel called and equipped to go into vocational ministry! My wife, Esmée, and I feel that the Lord is calling us to serve long-term in an unreached country. There are so many people in this world that have never heard the gospel, and we are willing to go, not because we think we would be so great, but because we want to be obedient to where we feel the Lord is calling us.

Know & Engage In God's Mission

When I look back to my understanding when I first started the internship, I would not have been able to articulate this. But now I am confident in understanding what God's Mission is: how I am called and how I can be involved in what He is doing.

Mature As a Disciple Of Christ

I believe that this is an area that I have grown in. From just 'living life' as a Christian, to now seeing that being a disciple of Christ is my everything has been the biggest change. Coming to the end of my internship doesn't mean that I have fully accomplished this, but it is something that will continue for my life here on earth.

For the 4th year internship placement, we are going to join Word of Life in Belize. Belize is in Central America, bordering Guatemala and Mexico. As far as ministry opportunities go, we know that we will be mainly involved with discipling youth, which they have a huge need for. We will also be helping to run different teen and kids camps for their summer block, and be involved in high-school outreach programs.

Pray With Us

We would love prayer for our safety traveling to Belize and while we are there. We would also love prayer for our marriage, that we would be taking care of each other while we serve together full time which we have never done.

I specifically would love prayer as I juggle my studies which I will still be doing full time. And lastly continued prayer for our financial support.
