2023 SESSIONS THEME: DIFFERENT

A Journey Through 1 Peter

This year at camp we are going through 1 Peter in our sessions. We will be covering themes that are throughout the whole book, such as; what it means for us to be different than the world (2:12), the hope that we have in Christ (1:3), our response to suffering (4:13), and the values we are called to have as believers (4:4).

Message Sent.

We are excited to see how God will work through this weekend, and our desire is for that to happen individually in the lives of young people and also collectively in entire communities of young people. How amazing to think of your community growing through camp, not only socially but also at that deeper spiritual level.

Our heart is too see communities strengthened in this way through camp so that young people are praying for one another, encouraging one another, and spurring each other on throughout the weeks and months following.

Our vision is to create a weekend that:

Centres around the Gospel

Strengthens Believers

Grows 'Hebrews 10' Communities

Gospel Centered

'For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.' 1 Corinthians 1:18

We promise that every youth who comes to camp will hear a clear message of what the Gospel is. We want the message of the cross to be central in every session, elective, and worship time, so that it may impact both unbelievers and followers of Jesus, so that they might see that an event 2000 years ago has the greatest significance on their lives today.

Strengthening Believers

'Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught.' Colossians 2:6

We also long to see young people who are serious about following Jesus. We want to see youth grow closer to God, understanding more of who he is, and being convicted, encouraged, and spurred on to leave camp with a desire and zeal to give their lives to love and serve the Living God.
To see this happen, the Word of God will be at the centre of our sessions, electives, small groups, and worship times. We will have people teaching truthfully from this book, because that is how we will see young people grow.

Growing 'Hebrews 10' Communities

'Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.' Hebrews 10:24-25

This verse in Hebrews captures the kind of communities we want to help grow. We know that your heart is to see this as well, and so we want to partner with you in that. This may already sum up your community, and so we want to help grow that even further. On the other hand, this may be very far away from your current reality, and so we want to create the space over this weekend for you to begin building this kind of culture.
For those of you who are coming to camp this year, we will promise to be praying for you – specifically that God may be at work in your group to grow this kind of community. We are excited by the impact that a ‘Hebrews 10’ community can have!
