Note From Our Director
It has been a great and exciting start to the year for our team here at Word of Life. We've welcomed on five new first year interns, run a national Leadership Conference, hosted a National Youth Leaders Round Table, served in schools weekly, had coffees with youth leaders, run personalised trainings for youth ministries, provided gear for outreach events and served many youth ministries with Gospel Advancing events.
There is always a lot going on and it is a joy to be able to serve the Church of New Zealand and play our part in serving, supporting and strengthening youth ministries as they engage in gospel advancement and discipleship. While we see so much joy in this, I am also continually challenged by our vision of seeing 'every young person in our nation impacted by the gospel through a friend.' It is such a big, bold vision; how are we ever going to see this achieved? This really challenges me and creates this desire that as a ministry we would move forward, further and faster.
To see the vision achieved, the quality and quantity of our partnerships must increase. These partnerships span right across the national Church, from individuals to trusts and from a single youth leader to entire denominations. It is only through a united Church effort that we can reach every young person in our nation, and it is only through prayer that this unity can take place. I consider the words of Jesus' prayer for the Church in John 17.
As we reflect on the mission Christ has entrusted to His Church, I invite you to join me in prayer. Let’s ask God to bring about united partnerships among His people. Together, may we faithfully carry out the ministry He has called us to - right here in our own backyard, Aotearoa New Zealand.

As we build our momentum into 2025 it is good to reflect on God’s wonderful provision for the teams that we have. Our recent board meeting gave the opportunity to meet, and get to know, the new interns who have joined us in our mission. It is so encouraging for us as a board to see these young people who desire to grow in their faith and introduce others to Jesus.
The growth of our team, across the board, presents an exciting opportunity for us this year. We, as the board, continue to pray for, and trust that through the diligent work of our staff and interns, that we will continue to see the spread of the gospel throughout New Zealand – that is what we get very excited about.
Thank you, Lord, for the gifts and abilities of those whom you have called to serve you through Word of Life. May you be glorified through our work.
